Early Childhood Curriculum & Program International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC)
The International Early Years Curriculum is an innovative, research-based curriculum that integrates play-based learning with thematic learning. The program is based on the philosophy that helping young children learn—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—is the real purpose of schools.
The curriculum emphasizes interactive, hands-on projects that spark curiosity, engage students, encourage teamwork, and make connections to children’s lives. The IEYC taps into students’ interests and strengths, developing their innate love of learning.
Early childhood classrooms at LCIS have the following characteristics:
Play-based learning is rooted in the IEYC themes, Learning Strands, and Learning Goals. Our teachers put research and understanding of best practices of play in early childhood to work. Following the student’s lead, teachers engage with students around the themes they are exploring, with the goal of strengthening their social-emotional regulation and deepening their content knowledge. In play, students practice the personal goals, with special focus on adaptability, communication and cooperation.
International Primary Curriculum
The IPC is our International Primary Curriculum for children aged 5 - 11 years old. It is used by over 1000 schools in over 90 countries worldwide. It is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum, with a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for every subject. It also develops international mindedness and encourages personal learning. More than 1000 schools and more than 90 countries worldwide are using IPC.
Cambridge curriculum is designed to help schools deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that suits their context, culture and ethos.
The curriculum sets clear learning objectives and focuses on developing knowledge and skills in all subjects, providing excellent foundations for the next stage of education. The curriculum is flexible, so schools can offer any combination of the subjects available.
Our LCIS teachers are qualified, well-trained and well-experienced teachers in the field of Early Childhood Education. We provide our teachers professional-career development trainings and workshops in regular basis. This is to keep improving our teachers’ knowledge and skills. In this way, they can teach and train the students with great care and innovative methods of teaching.
We want our young students to be aware and knowledgeable about embracing diversity in culture and society. We have Myanmar and foreign teachers. They are passionate and dedicated in teaching and supporting the students and parents too.
Our teachers have the eagerness and initiative in sharing their expertise in molding creative, positive and smart young learners. They also make sure and practice safety and security protocols of the school to ensure all children are learning happy, safe and grow with good confidence and values.
